The entire day was amazing. George and George played beautiful Greek music while cruising. George played fantastic bouzouki!!! The Greek dancing was also fantastic! We were traveling with my 81 year old mother who is a Greek national and this cruise was her absolute favorite part of our 2 week vacation. The dancers brought her to the dance floor and she had the time of her life. The dancers also did a little teaching to those interested.
When you visit Athens, you must do the Saronic Island Cruise (Hydra, Poros, Aegina). The cruise started at 8.00am and finished around 7.45pm. Our first stop was Hydra which was a pleasant island that has a museum, great hilly pathways, a well-known church, and a clock tower. This is a very scenic and beautiful island. Poros was the next stop and it looked nice. Our final destination was Aegina which I took the panoramic bus tour which allowed us to see the seaviews, the mountains and the Monastery. The island is well known for growing pistachios as well. On the big boat, we had lunch . After the final island was done, we were heading back to the mainland with a bit of Greek music, singing and dancing. All in all, it was a wonderful cruise that I would recommend
When I decide for the first time to go in a day cruise on three island,Hydra,Poros and Aegina, was a present for my birthday..So, with my cousin Antonia ,with sun hat,sun screen, camera and casual cloth we go. The first island was Hydra...a island without cars, with horses on the harbour..a place like a pictures...We eat greek donuts with honey and cinnamon, delicious
The second island was Poros. If you want peace and quaet, this is the best place. From the Clock Tower, the view is fantastic. If you have time ,can take a little boat and go vis-a-vis on lemon forest.
The last island was Aegina. The island named and The Saint Nectarios Island. Here you can see the Katzantzakis house,The Monastiry Saint Nectarios and many places if you take an optional trip around the island.
On the boat we have a very good greek lunch.Music and dance was with us all the trip.
In a word: wonderful.
